Southern Water Lifts Hosepipe Ban
Southern Water has announced the end of the hosepipe ban for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
The restriction was put in place in July due to record dry and hot weather, but has been lifted following wet weather in September and October.
We’re pleased to confirm that from today, Friday 31 October, the hosepipe ban in Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight has been lifted.
Despite the lifting of the ban, officials warn that drought conditions are likely to continue into 2026, and the public is urged to use water wisely.
- The national drought group warned that without sustained precipitation, a consistent recovery from drought remains uncertain going into winter.
