According to an SC notification, Salim Khan had gone on leave from September 16 to October 30 for private reasons, after which he tendered his resignation.

Going on 45 days' leave suddenly and now tendering resignation reflects that things were not going well

Reports suggest that some Supreme Court judges were unhappy with Salim Khan, which may have contributed to his resignation.
