A Teacher's Initiative to Combat Disinformation
A high school history teacher and fact-checker, Gabriel Narváez, sought to merge his two professional worlds.
The International Center for Journalists' (ICFJ) Disarming Disinformation initiative, a three-year program supported by the Scripps Howard Foundation, aims to slow the spread of disinformation through investigative journalism, capacity building, and media literacy education.

Teens already doubt what they see online — and taught them how to turn that into power
ICFJ partnered with MediaWise from the Poynter Institute to develop and deliver media literacy programming, training 27 trainers who have reached over 3,200 people.
