The Lafayette City Council voted 5-2 to endorse Ballot Issue 2C, a property tax increase to fund a new civic center and facility updates.
The ballot measure proposes a $74 million increase to the city's debt through a general obligation bond, to be funded by a property tax increase over 20 years.
