Etsy Names New CEO
Etsy's long-time CEO, Josh Silverman, is stepping down by the end of the year.
Kruti Patel Goyal, Etsy's president and chief growth officer, will become the company's next CEO, replacing Silverman, who will become executive chairman.
Goyal has over 10 years of experience at Etsy and previously led social-commerce platform Depop, which Etsy acquired four years ago.
- Silverman headed Etsy for eight years.
- Goyal has been in her current role for about seven months.
- In the third quarter, active buyers on Etsy fell 5% to 86.6 million.
Etsy may be looking to Goyal's experience to help revive growth.
