Lodi Legion Ceremony Honors Veterans
The American Legion Post 22's annual Veterans Day ceremony will feature a keynote speaker, Lodi resident Michael Thomas, whose service in the Marines is detailed in the book "Crawling to Survive".
Thomas, a former sniper with the United States Marine Corps, served during the Vietnam War. His last mission was recounted in the book written by fellow veteran Phil Lenser.
"Crawling to Survive" tells about Thomas' deployment to dispatch a North Vietnam colonel who had been brainwashing young children in Laos.
Thomas is currently looking for others to share their experiences in the Armed Forces.
