The next frontier of health tracking is happening in your toilet, with devices like Withings' new U-Scan, which can track nutrient intake and potential for kidney stones.
Health trackers are no longer limited to wrists or fingers, collecting data on heart rate, sleep duration, and body temperature. The latest innovations are found in toilets, sensing urine and monitoring biomarkers like hydration, nutrition, and more.
Withings has launched two toilet urine sensors: U-Scan Nutrio and U-Scan Calci, designed for nutrition and kidney stone tracking. The U-Scan attaches to the inside of a toilet bowl and comes equipped with gloves for insertion and cleaning.
These devices are like miniature urine analysis labs inside a shell-shaped sensor.
Unlike its competitor, Kohler Health's Dekoda, the U-Scan does not include a camera.
