Taylor Wimpey, one of the UK's largest homebuilders, has apologised to residents on the Edlogan Wharf estate in Cwmbran for not emptying a litter bin, causing concern among locals.
The company is responsible for emptying the bin it installed on Clôs Glas y Dorlan, near the children's park, but failed to do so after its contract with Torfaen Council expired in early September.
A resident described the situation as a "shambles" with "horrendous" smells, and noted that dog walkers continued to fill the bin with pet waste, leaving it "overflowing".
A spokesperson for Taylor Wimpey stated:
"We recently transitioned our bin collection service from Torfaen Council to a new provider."
Taylor Wimpey has apologised for the inconvenience caused to residents.
