The Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-skip crash involving a pedestrian that occurred on October 24.
The crash happened on state Route 125 near mile marker 16 in Jefferson Township, Brown County, and the preliminary investigation found an unresponsive pedestrian, identified as Caleb Holbert, 22, from Russellville.
It was determined that Holbert was struck by an unidentified vehicle, which left the scene of the crash. A Ford vehicle part was found at the scene, suggesting the suspect vehicle may be a Ford.
Holbert succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene, and the roadway is currently closed during the investigation.
