Thailand’s Queen Mother Sirikit, who created her own special place in the postwar revival of Thailand’s monarchy, passed away on 24 October 2025, the Thai Royal Household bureau announced.
Nordic Embassies in Thailand and many Nordic individuals expressed their condolences to the Thai Royal family.
During her husband, HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit’s reign, their connection to the Royal families in the Nordic countries strengthened into friendships.
