Our concept of what is and isn’t polite has greatly shifted as we’ve emerged from the pandemic.

Although shifts like these are part of the dynamic nature of social norms, some practices are worth holding onto while others worth ditching.

After returning from time abroad in Germany, the author is getting past the reverse culture shock, noticing the little things like the lack of academic knocking, a way German students show appreciation for the instructor’s lesson.
