Šínweg, Rača – honest food for hungry hikers
Nestled in the foothills above Bratislava, this rambling garden pub serves up warmth, smoke and Slovak comfort in generous spoonfuls.
The season of mists and mellow fruitfulness is upon us, gardeners are collecting their remaining vegetables, mushrooms are growing in the fields and leaves are falling from the trees.
Here in Slovakia we are fortunate to have fantastic wild areas; forests, mountains and lakes, and for many people this is the ideal period to go out and enjoy them.
A couple of hours of walking up and down hills with a teenager and two dogs certainly builds the appetite, so we found ourselves a seat in the garden of Šínweg to rest the legs and find some good value local dishes for lunch.
