The US agency in charge of nuclear weapons is putting most of its workforce on unpaid leave due to the prolonged government shutdown.
"They will have to lay off 80% of their employees. These are not employees that you want to go home,"
said House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers, warning of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) running out of money.
A top Republican lawmaker warned that the shutdown is crippling public services.
