A magnitude 3.1 earthquake struck in Berkeley, just east of Cal Memorial Stadium, on Thursday morning at 9:23 a.m.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was on the UC Berkeley Campus, 800 feet north east of the Cal Memorial Stadium.
This quake occurred less than an hour before the Great California Shake Out earthquake drill and less than a month after a 4.3 earthquake centered in Berkeley shook the Bay Area.
Over 1,400 people reported feeling the quake from as far away as Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Lodi, and Sunnyvale.
