Alia Bhatt Breaks Record at 70th Filmfare Awards
Alia Bhatt made history at the 70th Filmfare Awards, winning her sixth Best Actress trophy for her role in Jigra.
She overtaking legendary actresses Nutan and Kajol, who were tied at five wins each. Nutan had held the record since 1979, and Kajol later equaled it with her win for My Name Is Khan.
Alia's win not only broke the record but also marked her third consecutive win, a feat few have achieved. Meanwhile, Laapataa Ladies dominated the technical and supporting categories with 13 awards but drew a blank in the acting categories.
Her award was for Jigra, in which she played a sister who attempts a daring jailbreak to save her brother.
