The Dennehotso community in northeastern Arizona was particularly hard hit, with heavy rainfall from the remnants of Hurricane Priscilla overwhelming drainage systems and causing Laguna Creek to overflow.
According to Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren's office, large sections of the Dennehotso Loop Road were washed out, and homes were flooded. The Navajo Nation Council reported that waters from the Little Colorado River submerged large areas, forcing families to evacuate.
