Ex-Vegan Restaurateurs Test MAHA's Vision for Farming in Texas

A former vegan chef, Ryland Engelhart, is working to execute MAHA's dream of a utopian future based on small-scale, family-owned farms in Bandera, Texas.

Engelhart, 45, has created a 200-acre property called Sovereignty Ranch, which reflects his spiritual beliefs. A massive, three-dimensional heart carved out of wood using a chainsaw is emblazoned with the words "be love", symbolizing his message.

"The heart is the vessel in which we receive messages,"

Engelhart says, as he navigates his golf cart through the property. His family, who are "spiritual seekers", erected a wooden cross on a Good Friday without realizing the day's significance, showcasing their eclectic approach to spirituality.
