Immigrant priests, seminarians, and religious in the US are affected by immigration enforcement policies, according to advocates and analysts.
Tyson, of the Diocese of Yakima, noted that several seminarians were impacted, including a US-born individual who left to join his self-deported parents in Mexico.
"I know how hard it is to keep my priests and my seminarians in status," said Bishop Tyson. "I can only imagine what it's like for parishioners who don't have a fleet of lawyers."
Bishop Tyson cited a joint report by the National Association of Evangelicals and the US Conference of Catholic Bishops.
