Prescription Drug Take Back Day
The Ingham County Sheriff's Office is partnering with Delta Dental of Michigan to host a Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Wednesday from 3pm to 6pm at Delta Dental in Okemos.
This event coincides with National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on October 25 and aims to collect unused prescription drugs, including pain relievers, anti-depressants, sleep aids, and pet medications.
- No questions will be asked during the drive-thru event in the Delta Dental parking lot.
- Last year, the Ingham County Sheriff's department and Delta Dental collected over 70 pounds of unused prescription drugs.
According to the health department, prescription drug abuse has increased among youth, with about 80 percent of people misusing prescription drugs getting medication from family members and friends.
