Eastern Kentucky PRIDE, or Personal Responsibility in a Desirable Environment, was started in 1997 by Congressman Hal Rogers and the late General James Bickford.
Their vision was to encourage people to take responsibility for protecting the environment and provide the education and resources they need to do so.
Nearly 30 years later, a group of judge-executives are teaming up to kick-start a renewed effort to clean-up the region with hopes of promoting and expanding tourism in the mountains.
Floyd County Judge-Executive Robbie Williams, Perry County Judge-Executive Scott Alexander and Pike County Judge-Executive Ray Jones discuss the garbage problem, tourism, flood recovery and more with WYMT anchor/managing editor Steve Hensley on Issues and Answers.
Watch Issues and Answers Monday nights on WYMT.
