Australian and New Zealand Musicians Call for Streaming Platforms to Curb Fraudulent AI Music Uploads

A petition started by Hiatus Kaiyote member Paul Bender is calling for digital streaming platforms to do more to curb fraudulent AI-generated music uploads.

"We are calling on the music industry... to take measures to protect our creators in these most uncertain times."

According to Bender, who also performs in The Sweet Enoughs, four songs that were not created by him and sounded like AI-generated music were uploaded to his artist profile on digital streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music.

Author's summary: Musicians demand action against AI music fraud.
