The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced a new First Presidency on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
President Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles was named the new leader of the worldwide faith during a live broadcast from Temple Square.
Todd Christofferson were announced as counselors in the First Presidency, the highest governing body in the church.
This announcement comes more than two weeks after the death of President Russell M. Nelson, who led the church since 2018.
President Nelson passed away at his Salt Lake City home on September.
