Kamala Harris on whether Israel committed genocide: ‘We should all step back and ask this question’ - Jewish Telegraphic Agency

Kamala Harris on Israel's Actions in Gaza

Former Vice President Kamala Harris has faced protests from pro-Palestinian groups during her book tour.

During an interview on MSNBC's "The Weekend," correspondent Eugene Daniels asked Harris if she agreed that Israel's actions in Gaza constituted "genocide."

"A lot of folks in your party have called what's happening in Gaza a genocide. Do you agree with that?"

Harris responded by stating that the term "genocide" is a legal term that should be decided by a court.

"Listen, it is a term of law that a court will decide. But I will tell you that when you look at the number of children that have been killed, the number of innocent civilians that have been killed, the refusal to give aid and support, we should all step back and ask this question and be honest about it, yeah."

Several lawmakers, including Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, have also commented on the issue.

Author's summary: Kamala Harris questions Israel's actions in Gaza.
