Conflict Resolution Day Celebrated in East Hawai‘i
International Conflict Resolution Day is celebrated worldwide on the third Thursday of October to promote awareness of peaceful means of resolving disagreements.
Hawai‘i County Mayor Kimo Alameda issued a proclamation recognizing October 16 as "Conflict Resolution Day".
- A free community workshop will be hosted by partners on Thursday.
- The proclamation acknowledges the long-time partnership between the County of Hawai‘i, Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, East Hawaiʻi Rotary Clubs, Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center, and University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo.
Partners will host their 10th free community workshop on Thursday.
This event encourages the use of conflict resolution in schools, families, businesses, communities, government, and the legal system.
