Carolina Beach Wetland Planting Rescheduled
A volunteer planting event, originally scheduled for Monday, has been rescheduled to Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon at Carolina Beach State Park.
The event, which will take place in a 10-acre wetland restoration area, was postponed due to a rain-soaked weekend, allowing the area a few days to dry out before planting can begin.
- Volunteers will help plant native vegetation within the 10-acre project area.
- The project aims to address environmental damages caused by decades of creosote contamination at a former wood treatment plant in Navassa.
The North Carolina Coastal Federation has rescheduled the event to 10 a.m. on Thursday.
