India - DB Mondo Reviews Progress of WELEAD Women’s Leadership Project

From November 24 to 26, 2025, Don Bosco Mondo Project Manager Susanne Arzt conducted a review visit to assess the ongoing progress of the WELEAD Women’s Leadership Project in India. She was joined by the National Coordinator of BREADS Bangalore, Father Joy Nedumparambil, and other representatives of Don Bosco Network India.

Key Activities and Observations

The review aimed to evaluate the impact of the WELEAD initiative, which empowers young women through education, leadership training, and social engagement. During the visit, meetings were held with local leaders, educators, and program participants who shared their stories of growth and transformation.

“WELEAD is building future leaders who are confident, skilled, and socially conscious,” noted Susanne Arzt during one of the sessions.

Field visits included interactions with training centers and community groups across Maharashtra, highlighting progress in both capacity building and local collaboration. Participants emphasized the importance of sustained mentorship and network support for women’s empowerment.
