Davina McCall Supported by Celebrity Friends After Cancer Diagnosis

The presenter, 58, shared on social media that she had a biopsy after discovering a lump, which was removed through a lumpectomy just weeks ago. Following this news, Davina received an outpouring of support from fans and celebrity friends including Amanda Holden and Penny Lancaster.

Diagnosis and Treatment

In November 2024, Davina announced she was diagnosed with a colloid cyst, a rare benign brain tumour, and underwent surgery to remove it. She emphasized that the cancer had been caught very very early, but she would still need five days of radiotherapy in January as an "insurance policy" to remain cancer-free.

"I was very angry when I found out, but I let go of that and I feel in a much more positive place now."

She expressed gratitude to the doctors, nurses, her family, and fiancé Michael Douglas for their support.

Public Awareness and Personal Experience

Davina first revealed her diagnosis during her charity event, Dine With Davina, in Southampton. The announcement surprised the audience. She explained how Lorraine Kelly had encouraged people to check their breasts, which helped Davina notice the lump.

"Lorraine Kelly had put signs on the backs of all the doors saying 'check your breasts' and every time I went for a wee I did that. It was still there, and then one morning I saw myself in the mirror and thought ‘I’m going to get that looked at.’"

She captioned her social media clip with a message urging awareness:

"The message here, is know your boobs. Sending out huge love."
