Radio 2 DJ Sara Cox is undertaking a demanding 135-mile trek for Children in Need. The annual charity event returns, and Sara is embracing a tough test of endurance.
Starting today, Monday, November 10, Sara begins her five-day journey at Kielder Forest near the Scottish border. Her goal is to reach Pudsey in Leeds by Friday, November 14, in time for the Children in Need broadcast on BBC One.
Sara follows the path of her Radio 2 colleague Paddy McGuinness, who raised £10 million last year by completing a tough cycling event. However, Sara’s effort is on foot, adding a different level of physical challenge.
“We’re talking 135 miles of hills, moors and blisters – but I am ready for the challenge, and I will absolutely be giving it everything I’ve got!” Sara told the BBC.
“When they picked me to get Pudsey to Pudsey, I was honoured and horrified in equal measure.”
Sara Cox embarks on a rural 135-mile marathon across northern England, blending determination and charity spirit to support Children in Need.
