Jetstar brings back international flights to Avalon

Jetstar Resumes International Flights from Avalon Airport

Jetstar, the low-cost carrier, will restart international flights from Avalon Airport after a hiatus since early 2020. Starting next March, new flights from Avalon to Bali will be launched alongside the restoration of the Avalon-Adelaide route and an increase in flights to Brisbane.

New Flight Services and Capacity Increase

“This is a massive step forward for Jetstar at Melbourne Avalon Airport. We’re launching two new routes and adding more seat capacity than ever before,” said Jetstar CEO Stephanie Tully.
“Whether it’s a family holiday in Bali or a weekend away in Adelaide or Brisbane, these services give Victorians even more options to take off more, for less.”

Economic and Regional Impact

The expansion will add over 330,000 seats annually to and from Avalon Airport. It aims to support growth around Melbourne, Geelong, the Surf Coast, and the Bellarine Peninsula by attracting both local travelers and tourists.

“This investment will see thousands more customers fly through Melbourne’s second airport gateway, supporting the economic growth of Melbourne, Geelong, the Surf Coast and the Bellarine Peninsula,” said Stephanie Tully.

Jetstar CEO also expressed gratitude to the Victorian Government, Melbourne Avalon Airport, and Adelaide Airport for their support in enabling affordable travel options.

Official Statements

“I want to thank the Victorian Government, Melbourne Avalon Airport and Adelaide Airport for their support of low fares travel.”
Avalon Airport CEO Ari Suss emphasized the benefits this expansion brings to both locals and visitors.
