Ian Leavers, who served as President of the Queensland Police Union and was widely known for his strong advocacy of police officers’ wellbeing, has passed away at the age of 58.
Host Sofie Formica reflected on his more than three decades of service, noting his efforts in securing presumptive PTSD laws for officers and turning the police union into a stable financial organization.
“Ian was a fierce advocate for officer welfare and made an enduring impact on law enforcement in Queensland,” said Sofie Formica.
