ARC Raiders Beginner Guide for New Players

Starting a career as a Topside explorer in ARC Raiders can be challenging. There is a lot to learn, plenty of crafting items to find, and many new threats to face. This guide provides essential tips to help beginners get started, including what to loot, what to recycle, and more.

Looting and Inventory Management

During your first few hours, collect everything you find. As you level up, complete quests, and unlock new areas of Speranza, deciding which items to keep becomes clearer. Initially, don’t worry too much about choosing between items like Springs or Batteries.

Items have different rarity levels, and rarer items are more valuable. Late-game equipment demands rare crafting resources, so while you should hold on to these rare materials, you won’t be able to use them immediately.

Recycling Items

Avoid recycling items indiscriminately. Some gear labeled “Can be recycled” may actually be necessary for upgrading your Workstation benches. For instance:

“Some items might say ‘Can be recycled’ but are actually used in upgrading your benches in the Workstation. This says ‘Can be recycled into crafting materials’ and it doesn’t say it’s used in making anything – so you might assume it’s safe to recycle.”

You will need three of these specific items to upgrade the Crafting bench, so be cautious when recycling.

Summary

In ARC Raiders, begin by collecting all items without concern, then gradually learn which materials are important for crafting and upgrading. Understanding item rarity and recycling correctly is key for smooth progression.
