Supreme Court Refuses Plea for SIT Probe into Voter List Manipulation

The Supreme Court refused to entertain a plea seeking an SIT probe into allegations of electoral roll manipulation in Karnataka.

A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi directed the petitioner to approach the Election Commission of India.

We have heard the petitioner’s counsel and we are not inclined to entertain the petition, which is purportedly filed in public interest.

The bench ordered the petitioner to pursue the plea before the ECI if advised to do so.
