The Malta Poker Festival has made an exciting return to Portomaso Casino, drawing participants from all over the world. Since its debut in 2018, the festival has become one of Europe’s most anticipated poker gatherings. After a pause caused by the pandemic, it resumed in 2022 and now takes place twice a year, hosting both spring and autumn editions. The current event marks the tenth successful iteration of the series.
The highlight of the festival, the €550 Grand Event, exceeded all expectations this season. Over seven starting flights, the tournament attracted 1,987 entries and built a total prize pool of €903,497. The potential top prize of €141,000 offers the winner an extraordinary return on their initial buy-in.
This edition ranks as the second-largest Malta Poker Festival event so far, following closely behind last year’s record of 2,045 entries. The festival continues to demonstrate impressive growth and international appeal.
After Day 2, only 298 of the initial field remained, and the relentless competition reduced the number to 30 heading into the subsequent rounds. By the end of yesterday’s action, the final table of eight was determined, each guaranteed a minimum payout of €17,040 as they compete for the championship title.
Entering the final day as the chip leader is France’s Benjamin Nicault with 21,000,000, followed by Sweden’s Ulf Grahs holding 18,500,000.
The final showdown begins today at 1:00 PM local time with blinds at 300k/600k/600k, promising an intense conclusion to one of Europe’s most popular poker festivals.
The tenth Malta Poker Festival concludes today with 1,987 entries and a €903,497 prize pool, where Benjamin Nicault leads the final table for a €141,000 top prize.
