Heads-up: A 10,000mAh Qi2 Power Bank Will Only Charge Your Pixel 10 Once

A 10,000mAh power bank should theoretically recharge the ~5,000mAh battery in your Pixel 10, 10 Pro, or 10 Pro XL twice. However, testing reveals it only charges the phone once.

If you own a Google Pixel 10 series phone, you’ve likely explored compatible Qi2 and Qi2 25W accessories such as the Pixelsnap Charger with Stand, magnetic wallets, or MagSafe-compatible tripods. These are useful, but the accessory I anticipated the most was a Qi2 power bank for convenient, wireless charging without cables.

I tested several Qi2 portable batteries and found that despite their convenience, their stated capacity can be misleading. A 10,000mAh battery does not fully recharge the Pixel 10 series phones more than one time.

Charging Methodology

I drained the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL to 0%, removed their cases to minimize heat retention from TPU or silicone, and then began charging with the power banks.

“You should really be wary of the battery’s capacity. 10,000mAh won’t be enough to charge your ~5,000mAh Pixel 10, 10 Pro, or 10 Pro XL more than once.”

Although these power banks offer some convenience, their actual performance does not match the expectations set by their advertised capacity.

Author's Summary

Despite their convenience, 10,000mAh Qi2 power banks generally fail to recharge Pixel 10 phones twice, highlighting the gap between advertised capacity and real-world usage.
