The President of the Monegasque Rugby Federation revealed the jersey that will represent Monaco in Dubai, created by the imaginative efforts of 160 young artists.
On Wednesday morning, Collège Charles III was vibrant with rugby colors and artistic creativity as Princess Charlene attended the second edition of the creative jersey contest, a unique event blending sports enthusiasm with artistic talent.
The contest was organised by the Monegasque Rugby Federation in partnership with the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation and the Direction de l’Éducation Nationale, de la Jeunesse et des Sports. Nearly 160 students from grades 6 to 9 participated.
For five weeks, under the guidance of their art teachers, the students designed a jersey that incorporated symbols of both Monaco and South Africa, integrating the logos of the Federation and the Foundation. This combination holds special meaning for Princess Charlene, who was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, and has strong ties to her African heritage.
Princess Charlene, accompanied by her brother Gareth Wittstock, Secretary General of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, congratulated all 158 participants and commended the creativity of the 17 finalists.
"Princess Charlene warmly congratulated all 158 participants before praising the creativity of the 17 finalists."
Princess Charlene’s support highlights the inspiring blend of cultural heritage and youthful creativity in Monaco’s next generation.
