Richard Deeg will now hold the position titled the Christopher M. Barnett Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Temple University. This new position is part of a gift from Christopher M. Barnett, a 2010 graduate of the College of Liberal Arts (CLA).
Thanks to the generosity of University Trustee Christopher Barnett, the deanship at the College of Liberal Arts is officially endowed.
“As everyone knows, Chris has a tremendous Temple story. This is someone who was initially denied admission, only to persevere and later become one of our most successful alumni,” said Deeg. “What I am also particularly proud of is how Chris’ Temple story started here in the College of Liberal Arts. His incredible success illustrates how CLA helps produce socially aware citizens equipped with skill sets that can adapt to just about any field. It is truly an honor that CLA’s deanship will now bear Chris’ name.”
Barnett earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with minors in economics and general business studies from Temple University and CLA in 2010. Throughout his college years, he maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA, graduating with highest honors.
The endowed deanship reflects Barnett’s lasting impact on the College of Liberal Arts and Temple University as a whole.
Summary: The College of Liberal Arts at Temple University now honors Christopher M. Barnett’s legacy through an endowed deanship held by Dean Richard Deeg, highlighting perseverance and academic excellence.
