Three inmates will appear in court on Friday morning charged with the murder of Kyle Bevan, the convicted child killer from west Wales. Bevan, 33, was found dead in his cell at HMP Wakefield on Wednesday morning.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed that Mark Fellows, 45, Lee Newell, 56, and David Taylor, 63, all White British inmates of HMP Wakefield, have been charged with Bevan's murder.
"They’ve been remanded into custody and are due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court this morning."
In 2023, Bevan was sentenced to a minimum of 28 years for the murder of toddler Lola James in Haverfordwest. Following the child’s death, Bevan lived for several years at Rockland House on Queen's Road, Aberystwyth.
Bevan denied responsibility, claiming the child was pushed down stairs by a dog, but a jury convicted him after just 10 hours of deliberation.
Medical experts noted "101 separate injuries" on Lola's body.
After the assault, instead of calling emergency services, Bevan searched online for information about head injuries and took photos and a video of Lola’s limp body.
