The Diocese of Auchi in Nigeria announced the death of a young seminarian, Emmanuel Alabi, who was kidnapped along with two fellow seminarians by bandits in July 2025. While Japhet Jesse and Joshua Aleobua were later freed, Emmanuel Alabi died during the ordeal.
