Let the NAB AFLW Finals Series Begin
The highly anticipated 2025 NAB AFLW Finals Series has officially begun. As the competition celebrates its milestone tenth season, the AFL proudly launched the finals and revealed the Grand Final medal presenters at Yarraville Seddon Eagles FC in Melbourne's west.
Finals Series Kickoff and Teams
Starting this Friday night, the finals will feature St Kilda and the West Coast Eagles making their first-ever finals appearances. They will compete alongside experienced teams including the Adelaide Crows, Brisbane Lions, Melbourne, Carlton, and Hawthorn.
The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos, who secured the 2025 minor premiership, enter the finals aiming to defend their championship title from last year.
New Captain’s Medal Introduction
For the first time in the AFLW's history, the captain of the winning grand final team will receive a special medal. This award is the AFLW equivalent of the Ron Barassi Medal presented in the AFL.
As a former co-captain of the Adelaide Crows who won two best on ground medals among three premierships, Hall of Famer Erin Phillips OAM will present the Captain's Medal to the winning captain.
