Starbucks released its latest holiday merchandise, the Bearista Cold Cup, on November 6, which sold out almost immediately. This bear-shaped, 20-ounce tumbler features a clear container with a lid and straw, designed to resemble a green beanie on the bear’s head, a nod to Starbucks’ signature color.
The Bearista Cold Cup debuted early on November 6. Starbucks first teased the product on Instagram on November 5, sparking excitement among fans who quickly generated buzz around the festive item.
Despite high demand, many customers took to social media to express frustration about the limited stock. Several reported that the cups sold out by the time they tried to purchase them, with some locations allegedly stocking only one or two units.
“You should have had additional stock for your baristas and at least 10-20 for each store.”
Starbucks has since responded to the situation, acknowledging the overwhelming demand and addressing concerns about availability.
The swift sellout of Starbucks’ Bearista Cold Cup highlighted demand challenges and stirred customer backlash over limited stock and perceived preferential treatment of employees.
