Flinders Port Holdings has introduced a custom-built float that honors South Australia’s maritime heritage during the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant in Adelaide. The float underscores the essential role of maritime trade in bringing festive spirit to the community.
The annual pageant will commence at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, 8 November, marked by the blast of a golden whistle. Since its inception in 1933, the event has signaled the start of South Australia’s Christmas season, drawing thousands of spectators of all ages to the streets.
“We’re thrilled to finally unveil our FPH float,”
the company announced on social media, noting that their float honors the importance of maritime trade in delivering festive joy and gifts to South Australians every year.
“Our float is particularly special—it's the first custom-built float to join the pageant in five years, proudly featuring a replica of one of our Pilot boats, alongside straddle carriers, containers, and FPH elves ticking off Christmas gifts,”
FPH explained, adding that the blue fabric beneath creates the illusion of the Pilot Boat gliding across water.
The float was officially launched at Outer Harbor this week, with several of the FPH elves joining in the festivities to mark the occasion.
