Seven neighbours from Brookmans Park have become overnight millionaires after their street shared a £1 million prize in the People’s Postcode Lottery’s weekly draw.
The winning postcode, AL9 6PT, earned residents the "Millionaire Street" jackpot. Two households received £249,999 each with three tickets, one collected £166,666 with two tickets, and four others won £83,333 each with a single ticket.
Among the lucky winners, 52-year-old Steven Bean said he plans to donate part of his and his wife Olesya’s share to a charity that supports adults with learning disabilities.
“The first thing I’m going to do is give some money to a charity who had a bus stolen and burned,” said Steven.
The charity, Camphill Milton Keynes, lost its only minibus after it was stolen and later found burned on October 9. Although insurance will cover part of the loss, it will not be enough to fully replace the vehicle.
“Hopefully other people will give them a few quid too,” Steven added.
Lucy Davies, head of development at Camphill, expressed gratitude for the support and shared the emotional toll on residents.
“It has been a very difficult time for our residents who have found this situation very confusing and upsetting,” said Davies.
Brookmans Park residents win £1 million in the Postcode Lottery, with one winner pledging to help a local charity rebuild after losing its only minibus in an arson attack.
