Jennifer Lawrence openly discussed her experience filming nude scenes in her latest movie, Die My Love, emphasizing her comfort and reluctance to alter her natural appearance. The 35-year-old actress revealed that she did not want her cellulite edited out, highlighting her relaxed attitude towards nudity.
At a special screening of the film, Lawrence shared in a video captured by Vulture,
“I'm not sensitive about it. I wanted [director] Lynne [Ramsay] to have total freedom artistically.”She credited her pregnancy for reducing anxiety related to her body image, saying that prior to filming No Hard Feelings, she was focused on dieting and working out, but the circumstances were different during Die My Love.
During the shoot, Lawrence was pregnant with her second child, which influenced her mindset. She recalled,
“I was just tired. I remember them sending over a close-up of, like, cellulite being like, 'Do you want us to touch this up?' That’s an ass.”She found it liberating not to fuss over her appearance in a role where she portrays Grace, a new mother descending into postpartum psychosis.
Lawrence and her husband Cooke Maroney have two sons: Cy, 3, and a newborn. The actress has openly discussed her postpartum anxiety in the past, telling The New Yorker,
“I just thought every time he was sleeping he was dead.”
Jennifer Lawrence embraces vulnerability and rejects unrealistic body standards in Die My Love, choosing authenticity over perfection during a transformative phase in her life.
