In honor of their service and sacrifice, TransLink will offer free transit to veterans and active military personnel on Remembrance Day, Tuesday, November 11.
Eligible individuals can access free transit by presenting a badge, military ID, Veteran’s Service Card, or by appearing in uniform.
Veterans and eligible customers do not need to tap their Compass Card on buses and HandyDART trips. An accessible fare gate at SkyTrain and SeaBus stations will remain open starting at 8 a.m.
TransLink acknowledges National Indigenous Veterans Day on Saturday, November 8, honoring the sacrifices and contributions of Indigenous veterans worldwide.
The Royal Canadian Legion will distribute poppies by donation at various transit hubs in Metro Vancouver.
Transit is encouraged as a convenient way to attend Remembrance Day ceremonies throughout the region.
Standard holiday fares will be in effect for other customers on Tuesday, November 11.
