Elder Gérald Caussé became the newest member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Thursday, November 6, 2025. He was ordained the same day by President Dallin H. Oaks, along with other leaders of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
“I’ve always had a testimony of Jesus Christ,” Elder Caussé said. “He’s always been in the center of my life. And I know He’s our Savior and Redeemer. What a wonderful thing it is to be a witness of Christ. That’s the best responsibility or stewardship we might have in our lives.”
Apostles serve as special witnesses of Jesus Christ worldwide and carry important administrative duties. They help oversee the growth and operation of the global Church.
The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is the second-highest governing body of the Church, serving under the First Presidency, which consists of the Church President and two counselors.
He brings extensive leadership experience and a global perspective to his new role.
