Beloved Nine Star Quits After Two Decades

Channel Nine faces change as Livinia Nixon, the much-loved weathergirl, announces her surprising departure from 9News Melbourne after 20 years. The bubbly personality confirmed she is stepping back to prioritize her family.

Livinia shared her reasons, saying,

“After 20 years presenting weather on 9News, I’ve decided to step back from this role. My sons will both be in high school and I want to be there to support them. It’s been a privilege to be welcomed into viewers’ homes for so long, but this is the right time for my family.”

She mentioned her two sons, Henry and Ted, and reflected on how presenting the weather has shaped her life and career:

“I owe this role everything but this is the right decision for me. When I discussed it with our boys, they said ‘we’re pretty excited to spend more time with you, Mum.’”

Continuing with Nine Network

Livinia first joined Nine in 1997, after gaining popularity on Hey Hey It’s Saturday alongside Daryl Somers. Despite stepping back from weather presenting, she will remain with Nine and continue hosting popular travel shows.

She expressed her enthusiasm:

“I’m thrilled to be staying with Nine and will be continuing my roles on Getaway and Postcards.”

A Career Shaped by Connection

Livinia Nixon remains an integral part of Nine Network, balancing her career with family commitments.
