Matt and Ross Duffer, creators of Stranger Things, addressed recent bullying and harassment accusations involving stars Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter at the show’s premiere, the Duffer brothers were asked about the claims.
“Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal onset matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them. So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.” — Ross Duffer
Shawn Levy, the show's director and executive producer, also commented on how the production handles bullying complaints to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
“At the end of the day, that’s the job. You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so.” — Shawn Levy
Levy acknowledged the mixed nature of reports about the situation, stating that the facts vary widely amid much misinformation.
The creators and director of Stranger Things emphasize their commitment to a secure and respectful work environment, dismissing the bullying claims as exaggerated and unsupported.
