Elder Gérald Caussé Called to Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

SALT LAKE CITY — Elder Gérald Caussé, originally from France and former Presiding Bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was called and ordained as the newest member of the Church’s Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on Thursday.

Elder Caussé, age 62, was ordained by President Dallin H. Oaks along with the other members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The Quorum serves as the Church’s second-highest governing body. Its members act as special witnesses of Jesus Christ and oversee the Church’s global administrative functions.

Biographical Background
