The forthcoming Beatles biopics have officially cast Saoirse Ronan, Anna Sawai, Aimee Lou Wood, and Mia McKenna-Bruce in the roles of the Fab Four’s spouses. They will portray Linda McCartney, Yoko Ono, Pattie Boyd, and Maureen Starkey, respectively.
Sony Pictures confirmed that all casting deals concluded this week, allowing the formal reveal of the actresses joining the project “The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event.” This ambitious series is directed by Sam Mendes and follows each band member through their rise to fame.
“Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right — and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure,” said Mendes.
This is the first authorized theatrical feature film about The Beatles that has been granted music and life rights by the band and their descendants.
Linda McCartney (née Eastman) famously met Paul McCartney in 1967, while she was working as a photographer.
This historic film project uniquely portrays The Beatles and their wives through a series of four movies, officially sanctioned by the band’s descendants and led by director Sam Mendes.
