Good Thursday morning! We are currently enjoying a pleasant stretch of weather, with another sunny and warm day ahead. Yesterday’s cold front stalled over southern Arkansas but will lift northward today.
High temperatures will be around 70°, with occasional gusty winds coming from the southeast. Upper-level energy will pass just north of the area tonight, bringing a layer of high clouds.
The combination of south winds and cloud cover will keep overnight temperatures mild, with lows in the mid to upper 50s.
Friday will see a weak front move through, but temperatures will remain similar to today, leading into another pleasant Saturday.
Saturday evening, a much stronger cold front will arrive, bringing a north wind and a sharp drop in temperatures.
Sunday will be significantly colder, with highs likely struggling to climb above 40°. Due to a powerful upper low pressure system forming just east, there is some moisture wrapping around, making a few snow flurries possible.
By Monday morning, a broad area of strong high pressure will settle across the central United States. This will bring overnight lows down to the teens in some spots.
After Monday, a notable warm-up is expected during the following week, with no rain forecast for the next 10 days.
"Sunday looks dramatically colder, and highs could struggle to get much above 40°! A few snow flurries are possible."
Author’s summary: A warm spell continues for three days before a strong cold front brings much colder weather and possible snow flurries Sunday, followed by a cold start to next week and then a significant warm-up.
